Despite the availability of a vast array of cosmetic treatments, to most ladies, skin care from a bottle or a jar is still preferable. With the ageing of the population, the demand for anti-ageing cosmetic formulations is getting stronger and stronger. This urged the cosmetic medicine researchers to make rapid innovations in the field of cosmetic formulations. The progress has been made over the years from the discovery of AHAs in the 1990s to the Retinol derivatives in the second half of the decade, which showed measurable wrinkle reduction activity. This was followed by the lip-peptide based technology which took some years to become accepted and widely used.

Peptides and Matrikines are known to play a significant role in physiological as well as pathological processes of the body such as wound healing or invasion of the tumour due to their activity nature. The effectiveness of these cosmetic ingredients just like any other active ingredient in a product depends on their concentration. As these are costly ingredients, their concentration is usually very low in most of the cosmetic formulations. Keeping this in view, Harley Street Formulations has come up with an innovative Serum MP which is meant to fulfill the requirements of active ingredients and concentrations that are required to rejuvenate skin from inside out.

What are peptides and matrikines?

Peptides are small protein fragments that are composed of amino acids. These amino acids when combined in a certain sequence they build particular peptides. These are fundamental building blocks of skin and without these peptides, your skin loses its firmness, texture, tone, elasticity and results in the appearance of lines and wrinkles.

Matrikines is a term that is used for oligo-peptides and protein fragments. These are extra-cellular derived matrix peptides which exactly replicates the skin’s natural matrikines. They work as cell messengers that enable to regulate the events sequence that is required for wound healing or skin repair process. These are usually very small peptides comprising of 3-8 amino acids, seldom more or less.

The combination of potent peptides and matrikines in sufficient concentrations is proven to rejuvenate skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles[1] as found in Serum MP by Harley Street Formulations.

A powerful combo of skin rejuvenating Peptides and Matrikines in Serum MP

I) 05% Matrixyl synthe’6 (PalmitoylTripeptid-38): a palmitoyl tripeptide-38 is a powerful anti-wrinkle ingredient that regulates the activity of cells, support wound repair and remodeling of collagen tissue. It stimulates six primary components of skin matrix and DEJ (dermal-epidermal junction) which include collagen I, III, IV, fibronectin, hyaluronic acid and Laminin-5. It helps in reducing depth as well as the volume of wrinkles, skin roughness and enhances skin’s thickness. Serum MP has this active ingredient to help you achieve these skin rejuvenation benefits.

II) 16% Matrixyl 3000: A dual-peptide made up ofpalmitoyl-tripeptide7 and palmitoyl oligopeptide which works in synergy to promote wound healing, skin repair and stimulate collagen production. Due to the presence of GHK, it helps in skin remodeling, wound repair, improve skin structure and reduce scarring. It gives best results for photoaged skin by working at the level of the dermis. The high concentration of this peptide in Serum MP makes it most suitable for sun damaged skin.

III) 15% Syn-coll: It is composed of multiple amino acids with Palmitoyl Tripeptide-5 as its primary component. It activates growth factors (TGF) in the skin which stimulates and renews natural collagen. This helps to improve skin’ firmness and appearance of wrinkles. The presence of syn-coll in Serum MP is sufficient to achieve these results.

  • 08% Argireline: It is anAcetyl Hexapeptide-3 which mimics the working of Botox. it works by inhibiting movement of facial muscles which smooth our wrinkles. It limits the release of SNARE complex (neurotransmitters) which relaxes the muscle. A study demonstrated that it produced 30% reduction in depth of dynamic lines and wrinkles[2]. Its presence on Serum MP makes it more like a botox in a jar.
  • 08% Leuphasyl: it is apentapeptid-3 which works in close coordination with argrieline. By inhibiting the activity of neuromuscular synapses it acts similar to enkephalins. It helps in regulating and modulating acetylcholine secretion in the synaptic area which moves the muscle in a relaxed state, resulting in wrinkle reduction [3] .Serum MP with argrielines and leuphasyl combination gives best results for wrinkle improvement.
  • 05% Melanostatine-5: it is abiomimetic nonapeptide-1 which inhibits the synthesis of melanin induced by α-MSH. It also prevents over-production of melanin which helps in improving skin tone, pigmentation and dark spots. It has also been found to be effective in reversing hyperpigmentation[4]. The presence of this peptide in Serum MP helps in skin lightening and brightening restoring its natural glow and radiance.
  • 30%  Pentamide 6: it is ahexapeptide-11 which has outstanding skin firming, brightening and protective qualities. It also helps in reducing oxidative stress while placing a powerful influence on various growth factors and develops skin lipids which improve elasticity. A strong concentration of this peptide in Serum MP ensures that you get its optimal skin rejuvenation benefits.
