The parallel grooves that appear on the forehead from constant contraction of the frontalis muscle and elevation of the eyebrows worsen with age and sun exposure. For certain people, these lines show ‘negative’ emotions of stress, concern and tiredness. Also we find that the primary concern with these lines is that they can age the facial appearance.

Whilst many may desire the complete absence of these lines with botox, the resultant effect of ‘overtreating’ can create a stony, artificial, shiny forehead with little feature. We have the extensive experience to apply with caution and precision in these cases. We have had many successes in achieving, a softer, smoother and natural look when applying botox wrinkle relaxing injections in this area.

Please note that pillow / sleep lines are not treated with Botox.

Indication: Horizontal forehead lines.

Muscle Targeted: The broad frontalis muscle that spans the forehead.

Muscle Action: The vertical fibres of the frontalis muscle help to raise the eyebrows and have an effect on their shape.

Treatment: Botulinum toxin use in the frontalis muscle helps to smooth the forehead reducing the appearance of horizontal lines. Botox Treatment can also be tailored to elevate the lateral part of the eyebrow helping to lift heavy eyebrows.

Possible Side Effects:

  • Eyebrow droop
  • Eyebrow asymmetry
  • Hoarseness
  • Eyelid droop

For individuals with excessive hooding of the brow, appropriate movement of the forehead is essential for lifting heavy eyebrows and eyelids. A balanced approach to treatment is addressed in these cases.
