What is a jawline filler?

Jawline filler is a simple, safe and effective treatment for anti-ageing as well as high definition contouring.  Improving jawline concerns may boost facial profile and confidence.  The jawline filler before and after pictures help illustrate what we can achieve.

According to Chinese face reading well defined jawlines symbolise good fortune, endurance and aggressiveness.

Jawline filler benefits

  • Lifting mild to medium jowls
  • Add definition to the jaw

Jaw fillers are injectable gels made out of hyaluronic acid (HA), a natural substance found in the skin. Hyaluronic acid keeps the tissues well hydrated by attracting water. Improving the jawline with dermal fillers requires expert injectors who understand in-depth facial anatomy. CosmeDocs medical injectors are well known international trainers for medical professionals learning advanced facial aesthetics.

1ml jawline filler

1ml of Jawline filler provides an immediate effect on your jawline. Minor swelling can be noticed but you still can do your regular activities

2ml jawline filler

The strong definition of jawline can already be seen and noticed easily. You can feel a light bruising and slight swelling but it will go away after a few days.

Male jawline fillers

Male jawline fillers compliment facial hair styling techniques to improve definition.  Due to thicker tissues larger volumes such as 1ml jawline filler per side is usually required.

Jawline filler before and after

Jawline filler before and after pictures shown on this page are for guidance purposes.  Individual jawline anatomy varies.  A consultation is recommended to discuss your goals and how quantity jawline filler that will be required.

How do jaw fillers cause jowl lift?

Facial ageing involves reduction in volume of facial fat compartments.  The face first sinks and then sags.  Replacing lost volume in certain compartments responsible for jowls lift the skin.  Facial exercises for jowls are usually counterproductive.

How long does jawline fillers last?

Jawline fillers last more than 12 months once the right density material is selected. Dermal fillers come in varying consistency depending on the treatment area and goal.    For example, a carefully selected 1ml jawline filler will provide more volume than 1ml lip filler.  We use highly cross linked hyaluronic acid dermal fillers that are robust and provide long term results.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does jawline filler make your face bigger?

No, unless this is what is desired.  Jaw fillers are carefully injected into areas of flatness to increase definition and lift without making the face bigger. In some instances, volume loss around the jawline contributes to jowls.  Jowl lift with jaw fillers involves injecting specific regions of the jawline responsible.

Who should not use jawline fillers?

We do not perform jaw fillers for pregnant and lactating women. It is also not recommended to clients with an infection or irritation in the area concerned.

What is hyaluronic acid dermal fillers?

Hyaluronic Acid (HA) is a moisture-binding substance referred to as a humectant. Its task is to combine and attract water to serve as a protection against moisture loss. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are safe to replace lost collagen, elastin, fat and bone loss, as well as innate hyaluronic acid.

What if I don’t like results?

It is rare for that to occur. Our friendly cosmetic doctors make sure your goals and expectations match the anticipated treatment outcome. Also, during the treatment, you will be closely observing changes and discussing with your practitioner.

Jawline filler gone wrong?

Though side effects do occur, they are scarce. Using a blunt cannula approach, typical side effects such as bruising and swelling are limited. Our CosmeDocs inject the filler in stages so you can see the results build up. There should be no surprises. Hence, the chances of jawline filler gone wrong are minuscule.

Can I be allergic to fillers?

Allergic reactions to premium quality hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are infrequent. Injecting thousands a year, we have not encountered an allergic response in the last ten years. However, localised swelling is common but usually not noticeable. It subsides within a few days. The treatment has no downtime.

Can I resume normal activities after jaw fillers?

You can resume normal daily activity after jawline filler including limited exercise.

Can jaw fillers be reversed?

Dissolving jawline fillers requires using a medication designed to break down hyaluronic acid. Only Surgery can remove permanent dermal fillers.

What are different types of dermal fillers?

There are two broad types of dermal fillers, permanent and non-permanent. Permanent ones include silicon-based ones. Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers are temporary but long-lasting. The safety of hyaluronic acid dermal fillers far exceeds that of silicon or other permanent fillers with over 20 years of medical research.

How long is the jawline filler procedure?

After a thorough consultation, the treatment will take 20-30 minutes, depending on the amount of dermal filler required.

Do you offer permanent jawline fillers?

We do not offer permanent jawline fillers due to long-term safety concerns.  Modern day hyaluronic acid dermal fillers provide longevity as well a safety.

Jawline filler aftercare?

Jaw filler aftercare is minimal.  We advise massaging the treated area as will be demonstrated by your cosmetic doctor. Keeping the area clean and make up free is recommended.

What are the things to avoid before treatment?

We advise avoiding alcohol before the treatment. Do not discontinue any medications such as blood thinners as advised by your GP/Consultant. Should you have any specific concerns, please do email us in advance.

What will I feel during the procedure?

You will feel numbness to your face due to the topical anaesthetic. After that, the doctor will inject using a blunt cannula (needle) which improves comfort. During the procedure, you will feel some movement. Jawline filler is one of least discomforting facial aesthetic treatment.

What should I do after the treatment?

Depending on your case, your cosmetic doctor will give you specific instructions and advice. Generally, massaging the treatment area is helpful to prevent swelling and lumps.

How is the jaw filler removed from the body?

The body metabolises hyaluronic acid dermal fillers over 12-18 months. The broken-down components include water and carbon dioxide and removed via the kidneys and lungs.

How often is maintenance required?

Jawline fillers last over a year, with many individual not needing repeat treatment for up to two years. However, most individual prefer not to let it all dissolve before repeating. We recommend an annual review to check your absorption rate.
